First commission (January 2019)

Kensuke Koike (Japan / Italy, 1980)

Kensuke Koike, born in 1980 in Nagoya, Japan, lives and works in Venice. Mainly through the means of collage, photo-collage, installation and sculpture, in his artistic practice he makes an operation of transformation of objects and images capable of unveiling the most unusual aspects, bringing a new look on them. His research focuses on the origins of imagination and on the potentials of human perception.

His works have been exhibited in galleries and museums all over the world and he has developed several important collaborations. Among the most recent ones we mention the one with Gucci for the launch campaign of the fall / winter 2018 collection, and the one with the French artist and collector Thomas Sauvin, with whom Koike has created 3 artist’s books.
